  • Training Modules for 2018 ELPA21 Summative

This is a reminder that the complete training modules for Iowa educators will soon be located at AEA Learning Online.  Resources located in this portal, including PowerPoint training materials, are incorporated into the online modules along with Iowa-specific directions and information.  You are welcome to view the training materials located in the portal at any time; however, Test Administrators MUST complete the online training modules located at AEA Learning Online in order to be certified to administer the assessment.

The materials for Iowa’s online training modules are still being finalized, and you will receive notification once they are available in the AEA Learning Online system.

  • Updated ELPA21 Practice Tests Available

Updated ELPA21 Practice Tests are now available. There are two changes to the practice tests this year:

    • The practice tests have been divided into four separate tests for each grade band: one test for each domain. This mirrors the way the ELPA21 summative tests are administered.
    • Two new speaking items have been added to the speaking practice test. These items are similar to new speaking items that will appear on this year’s summative test.

Student Practice Tests can be accessed using supported web browsers or the Iowa ELPA21 Secure Browser. The TA Practice Test administration site can be accessed using supported web browsers.

  • Reminder: In order to receive scores for any paper and pencil accommodated test forms that have been administered in your school or district, all responses MUST be entered into the DEI. Please note, the DEI is only required for paper and pencil accommodated test forms, NOT the K and 1 Online Writing Supplement. Once you have completed entering paper and pencil test responses into the DEI you should immediately return these materials to MI.  If you have any questions about entering responses into the DEI or shipping materials back to MI, please call the IDOE HelpDesk at iowaelpa21helpdesk@air.org or call 1-855-873-5710.
